More about Izgrev

Telling the driver where you are

Izgrev has many similar blocks and inner streets, so our dispatchers ask for a landmark. If Bulgarian is hard, a landmark is often easier to say than an address. These are the pickup points people use most:

  • Kaufland Izgrev and the bus stop opposite it;
  • the Izgrev (Iztok) medical centre (DKTS) on Hrabrets Street;
  • the Izgrev shopping centre;
  • the city bus turning loop (“obrashtaloto”);
  • the blocks on Landos, Prespa, Zheravna, Glog and Lotos streets;
  • the new residential complexes on Osvobozhdenie Boulevard.

Give the street, block number and entrance (“vhod”). The easiest option for visitors is the One App: you drop the pin on the map yourself, see the car and its number plate, and follow it as it arrives, with no need to explain anything on the phone.

When cars are busiest

Orders in Izgrev build up through the day and peak in the evening, between 21:00 and 23:00, when people come home from the centre, the malls and work. Close to a third of all rides are at night, after 22:00, when the night tariff applies. Sunday and Monday are the busiest days, Wednesday the quietest. Leaving Kapana late on a Friday? Order the ride home in the app while you are still at the table, and you will see how long the car will take.

Where people from Izgrev go

  • The city centre and Kapana, about 4 km. This is the most common ride.
  • Trakia, the large district next door, a short ride that does not go through the centre.
  • The malls: Plovdiv Plaza is the closest; Mall Plovdiv and Markovo Tepe Mall are also frequent destinations. With shopping bags a car to the door is easier.
  • Hospitals and the Medical University: St. George University Hospital, Pulmed and St. Ivan Rilski. Allow 10–15 minutes extra for an appointment. More in Taxi to St. George Hospital & Medical University.
  • The railway and South bus stations, about 5 km. See Taxi from Plovdiv railway & bus stations.
