You have just landed at Plovdiv Airport and want to get to your hotel, the Old Town or Kapana. Good news: the airport is small, you are out with your bags quickly, and the city is close. There are two real ways in: a taxi at a fixed price, or a shuttle bus that runs around the flight schedule. Here is how they compare, with the numbers we actually charge.

Plovdiv Airport is one of the most requested destinations outside the city in our call centre, both ways. So we know what visitors ask first: how much, how long, what happens if I land at midnight, and how do I order a car if I do not speak Bulgarian.

Plovdiv Airport to the centre in numbers

The airport is in the village of Krumovo, south-east of Plovdiv. Prices and distance are from our Prices and Transfers pages.

  • 20 €taxi, day rate 06:00 – 22:00, fixed
  • 25 €taxi, night rate 22:00 – 06:00, fixed
  • ≈ 20 kmfrom central Plovdiv to the terminal
  • ≈ 20 minby car in normal traffic

The fixed price is per car, for up to four passengers, one way. It is agreed before you set off and does not change with traffic.

Taxi, bus or pre-booked transfer?

Each option solves a different problem. A taxi drops you at the door, the bus drops you at a bus station, and a pre-booked transfer means you do not even need to make a call after landing.

By taxi: straight to your hotel

A taxi is the most direct way in: about twenty minutes, no changes, and you get out at your hotel door. The fare between Plovdiv and the airport is fixed: 20 € by day and 25 € at night, per car, for up to four passengers, one way. The night rate runs from 22:00 to 06:00. Tell us you are starting at the airport and the price is confirmed when you book. There is no meter surprise at the end.

Luggage costs nothing extra, skis and sports bags included. Need a child seat? Ask in advance: when it is requested ahead, there is no charge. The price is per car, not per person, so for three or four people it comes close to separate bus tickets, and it drops you at the door.

What to expect on arrival

The terminal is small and passport and baggage control are quick. Our tip, as on our Plovdiv Airport taxi page: order the car once the plane has landed, not before. By the time you have your bags, the car is on its way. If you booked a transfer in advance, give us your flight number: we follow the flight, so a delay costs you nothing extra.

By bus: cheap, but tied to the flights

There is a shuttle bus between the airport and Bus Station South (Avtogara Yug) in Plovdiv. It is not a regular city line that comes every few minutes. It runs around the scheduled flights: it leaves the airport after those flights land and leaves the bus station before they depart. Tickets are per person and paid on board.

Times and fares change with the flight schedule, so check them on the official airport website, plovdivairport.com, before you travel. Bear in mind that Bus Station South is not the Old Town: from there you still have a couple of kilometres to most hotels, which is a short taxi ride at the normal city tariff (see Plovdiv taxi fares 2026).

Landing late at night

Plenty of flights, especially the winter ski charters, land in the evening or after midnight. That is when the bus is often not an option, while we run around the clock. After 22:00 the fare to the city is 25 € per car, still fixed. You pay in the car: every One car carries a myPOS card terminal, with no surcharge for paying by card.

  • Book a car in advance if you land after 23:00 or travel with children and luggage.
  • Give your flight number so the dispatcher knows when to send the car.
  • If your flight is delayed, call 032 22 22 when you land.
  • From a foreign SIM, dial +359 32 22 22.

Heading straight to the slopes?

In winter many passengers do not stay in Plovdiv but carry on to the mountains. There are fixed prices from Plovdiv for that too: Pamporovo 80 € day / 90 € night, Borovets 105 € / 115 €, Bansko 145 € / 160 €, per car for up to four passengers. All routes and the booking form are on our Transfers page.

The way back: city centre to the airport

For a departure, leave Plovdiv about two hours before a charter flight and around ninety minutes before a scheduled one. The price is the same: 20 € by day, 25 € at night. For an early flight, book the evening before and the car will come to your address. The shuttle bus leaves from Bus Station South before departures, on the airport’s timetable.
