Most taxi rides between the sights of Plovdiv are short: from a hotel in the centre to the Old Town, Kapana, the Rowing Base or a shopping mall is usually 3 to 4 km, about €4.50–€5.30 by day on the meter. One Taxi drives 24/7. Call 032 22 22 (from a foreign phone +359 32 22 22) or book in the One App, and pay by card in any car.

The heart of Plovdiv is made for walking. The main street, Kapana and the Old Town hill are only a few hundred metres apart, and on a sunny afternoon you will not need a car at all. A taxi is for the parts in between: up the cobbles to the Ancient Theatre when your legs have had enough, out to the Rowing Base for an evening run or an event, to the big malls on the edge of the centre, and back to your hotel after a long dinner in Kapana.
This page is written for visitors. It shows what those rides cost on our published tariff, where it is easiest to meet the car at each place, and how to order if you do not speak Bulgarian. The places are not a guess: they come from our own dispatch records. After rides into the centre itself, the Rowing Base is where hotel guests order a car most often, and close to half of all addresses for Kapana, the Old Town and Mall Plovdiv Plaza are typed in Latin letters.

What rides between the sights cost
Fares below are worked out on the tariff: starting fee + kilometres × price per km + €0.50 booking fee. Distances are approximate driving distances. If the car waits for you or stands in traffic, the meter adds €0.16 a minute.
| Ride | Distance | Day | Night |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel in the centre → upper Old Town (Ancient Theatre) | ≈ 3 km | about €4.50 | about €5.00 |
| Hotel in the centre → Rowing Base | ≈ 4 km | about €5.30 | about €5.90 |
| Kapana → Rowing Base | ≈ 4 km | about €5.30 | about €5.90 |
| Hotel in the centre → Mall Plovdiv Plaza | ≈ 4 km | about €5.30 | about €5.90 |
| Hotel in the centre → Mall Plovdiv | ≈ 3 km | about €4.50 | about €5.00 |
| Kapana → hotel in Trakia | ≈ 6 km | about €6.90 | about €7.70 |
| Centre → railway station or South bus station | ≈ 5 km | about €6.10 | about €6.80 |
| Hotel → Plovdiv Airport | ≈ 20 km | €20 fixed | €25 fixed |
About … € on the tariff, day/night. The amount on the meter in the car is what you pay; it depends on the exact address, the route and traffic. The airport price is fixed per car for up to four passengers.

Old Town: where the car can reach you
The Old Town is the part of Plovdiv most visitors come for: Revival-era houses, museums, galleries and the Ancient Theatre looking over the city. It also has its own access rules and a maze of steep, cobbled lanes, so a taxi cannot always stop right at the door. The driver will meet you at the nearest point the car can legally reach.
- Give the dispatcher the name of the place, not only the street: the Ancient Theatre, a museum, a house or a restaurant. Our drivers know them.
- Going down rather than up? Dzhumaya Mosque, at the end of the main street, is one of the addresses our visitors book most often. It is an easy place to be picked up from.
- In the One App you can drop the pin exactly where you are standing and watch the car come to you.

Kapana in the evening
Kapana, the creative quarter of small streets, bars and cafés just off the main street, is together with the centre around it the busiest address in our dispatch records. Its lanes are mostly for people on foot, so the car waits at the nearest street it can reach. If you are not sure where that is, ask for the wide part of Kapana: the dispatchers have it as a ready pickup point.
Rides from Kapana are busiest between 19:00 and 22:00, and about a third of them run after 22:00 on the night tariff. On Friday and Saturday nights it helps to order a few minutes before you get up from the table, or to book the car for a set time.
Came to Plovdiv in your own car and want a glass of wine with dinner? Our Drink & Drive service sends a driver who takes you and your car back to the hotel.
Rowing Base (Grebna Baza)
The Rowing Base is the long rowing canal on the north bank of the Maritsa, west of the centre. Locals run, cycle and walk there, and it hosts regattas and other events. From a hotel in the centre it is about 4 km, so plan on about €5.30 by day and €5.90 at night.
- Trips to the Rowing Base are busiest between 18:00 and 20:00, when people head out for an evening walk or a run.
- The canal is long. When you order the ride back, say which side of the canal you are on and the nearest landmark, so the driver goes to the right end.
- After a big event many people leave at the same moment. Book your ride home for a set time, or order in the app a little before the end.
Shopping malls
Three malls come up again and again in our orders. Afternoons from 15:00 to 18:00 are the busiest time for rides to and from them.
- Mall Plovdiv Plaza: about 4 km from the centre, about €5.30 by day.
- Mall Plovdiv (Perushtitsa Street): about 3 km, about €4.50 by day.
- Markovo Tepe Mall: in the centre itself, usually within walking distance of the main street.
Shopping bags and suitcases travel free. If you want the driver to wait while you shop, the meter adds €0.16 a minute, so 15 minutes is about €2.40. For a longer visit it is usually cheaper to order a new car when you are done.
How to order a taxi as a visitor
- At hotel reception. Tell them where you are going and when, and reception will book the car for you.
- By phone: 032 22 22, day and night. From a foreign SIM dial +359 32 22 22. Give the name of your hotel or of the place you are at.
- In the One App. Mark your pickup on the map, see the car and its number plate, and follow it as it comes. Handy if you do not speak Bulgarian.
A genuine taxi has a roof sign with the company name and phone number, prices on the rear side window, a meter that starts when the car moves off, and a receipt at the end. If something is missing, order another car. A child seat is free when you ask for it in advance.
